We Are In!

As of 8:45 PM tonight, we are officially 100% in our new place. We are really enjoying the new digs.

That's all for now. We had a great Easter weekend that I want to tell you about. Now that the move is over, I should have some more time to write.

Moving Day Tomorrow

This will be my last post from #226. It's a bittersweet move, as most moves are. This has been the only place Destin has known. I know that he'll ask one day about how many places he has lived. The first one has been great, but it's definitely time to move on.

All three of us are excited about the new place and our next chapter. We'll be disconnected most of the weekend, so I probably won't get another post up until next week.

We hope you have a relaxing and reflective Easter!

St. Paddy's Day Weekend

On Thursday, Dad/Dave/Pop Pop and Kyle went the distance for St. Paddy's Day. 8:45 AM to 10:00 PM. A well spent day.

We had a great table inside Fado. Dad/Russ/Grandpa came down for a few hours and a few pints. Sheri and Destin came down as well. We almost had a fiasco because the mean face guys at the door almost didn't let Destin in. We took some quick photos with the pea packer right outside the door. I think a manager had some pity on us because, as we finished, they let him in.

The day was great. Filled with friends, fun, basketball, and Irish beer and fare. What could be better? A day when the 5% of my heritage that is Irish takes over.

The rest of the weekend was spent moving to our new apartment. Grandma and Grandpa came up on Saturday to help pack up the kitchen. We had lunch at Camille's, a great sandwich spot, right by our new place.

Destin really likes the new place. He has his circuit already. There are three of those spring-coiled door stopper things in our kitchen. They have already provided hours of entertainment for the D-man. On Saturday, he walked around the living and dining rooms holding on to Grandpa's fingers, and climbed the stairs with his Mama.

I was lucky enough to watch. Destin was so happy and proud of himself as he accomplished these feats, and so was I. :)

I know that I still owe a write up on his hearing tests. I'm hoping to get to it this week. I also still have a zillion pictures to post, along with a zillion more from the past two weeks.

Thanks for sticking around!

The 10 Day Recap

I'm going to try to cram a week's plus worth of stuff into one post. This will cover some days already posted because I wanted to make sure we had a record of it.

I have to begin with two weekends ago. Sunday, March 6th, Sheri, Destin, and I had lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Stackpole at Champs. It was fun. Sheri and I went to run a few errands while Destin got to play toys with Grandma and Grandpa. I definitely think Destin had more fun! He was into his little race car as he always is, and tried to extend his visit by "discovering" his phone toy as we were leaving.

That next Monday(March 7th) Sheri headed to Tennessee for her week in the South. Destin was a champion flyer again; even with it being the first trip with only one parent.

Tuesday, March 8th was the big meeting at the Bill Wilkerson Hearing clinic at Vanderbilt Hospital. I will probably do a separate post on this to go into more detail, but we were very pleased with the appointment. Destin is hearing just fine. This was obviously great news, but we were even more pleased with how we were treated. More to come...:)

Wednesday, March 9th, Sheri's 32nd birthday. She had a "Sheri Day" including a manicure and pedicure, shopping, and a night on the town. Not too shabby. I actually went home early because I felt sick and didn't want to push it with my upcoming trip to TN.

Thursday the 10th was pretty vanilla. A few things went on, but nothing blog worthy.

On Friday, the 11th, Sheri and Mom did a bunch of work for the wedding shower on Saturday. Dr. Joe made his way down from Illinios to hang out for a bit. That night, around 11:30 PM I was reunited with the fam.

Saturday the 12th. The day of the shower. It was a BEAUTIFUL 73 degrees during the day. All the men had errands and chores to do for the hostesses. Fortunately, we were able to get some play time in too. The wedding shower for Shelley and Michael that night was tremendous. The people were great. Food was great. It was a ball.

Sunday, we had a little clean up from the party, and some serious sloth time. We watched as this year's March Madness kicked off with the release of the bracket. Dr. Joe headed back north later in the afternoon. Nathan, Corey, and Tarpy came over to Mom and Dad's place to chill out and have some pizza.

Monday, the 14th, departure date. We packed up, shipped out, arrived in Denver with wintery conditions. 28 degrees and snowing. A little bit of a change from 73 and sunny...:)

Today was back to the grind for me. Sheri got us settled back in at home as we await Pop Pop's arrival for the St. Paddy's Day celebration on Thursday.

So that's where we've been. Like I said earlier, I'm hoping to do a larger post on the hearing appointment. I will need Sheri's help though. She is currently snoring behind me. :) (I think I might get it for that one!)

Back Safely From The Volunteer State

We are back from our visit to Tennessee. We had an absolute ball, but it's a little too late to get into it now.

Screen time planned for tomorrow night. Happy Monday!

Leaving On A Jet Plane

Sheri and Destin are leaving this morning(Monday) bound for Nashville, TN.

Bachelorhood for a week, woo hoo! Well, honestly, I've got a list of to do's (and honey do's, of course) that will last me well into next week. Plus, I will be joining them this coming weekend in the Rocky Top state.

The purpose of this trip is two-fold. One is to get a second opinion on Destin's hearing. Two is for Sheri to help my mom get ready for a couple's wedding shower.

Destin should be his normal travelling self. Although, he will be nursing 4 new teeth. I forgot to mention that in my last post. We are giving him a few doses of Tylenol during the day for a little relief.

Well, we have a fairly early start in the morning, so I will end this short, unorganized post. :)

Mediorce News

Destin had another well baby check-up yesterday. We didn't get the greatest news, but it wasn't the worst by any means.

Destin lost one ounce of weight. This is partly because he was sick over the last couple weeks. Dr. Dickerson wasn't too concerned. His head circumference and height are actually on "the curve" now, which is nice.

Dr. Dickerson also thought that Destin has two hernias in his abdomen. Again, not the greatest news, but not overly concerning. If they do actually exist, they will require surgery to correct. We scheduled some time with the urologist to see what's going on. Dr. Dickerson is wondering when we are going to catch a break! :) We will someday. Sheri and I are just thankful for her because she is honest with us and points us in the right direction.

We are excited about his appointment at Vanderbilt next week for his hearing. Sheri was able to get our ENT, Dr. Allen, on the phone a few days ago. They had a very good talk about Destin and what is going on with his hearing. Dr. Allen is going to try to be involved as much as he can for Destin's next ABR test. He also thought that the visit to Vanderbilt was a really good idea.

I know the tone of this post may be a little on the down side, but Sheri and I are very optimistic. There is no sense in not being that way. It appears that we will be having a new set of challenges in the next few weeks. We'll just have to take them one step at a time.

On a little bit of a lighter side, I did get another picture album up. Check it out, if you haven't already.
