Two Years And Counting
So I cheated a little bit by doing a "historical" post, but this marks the two year anniversary of the site.
Thanks to all of you for stopping by!

Blue Feet
I lost track of time tonight, so I will be brief.
The pea packer got his new casts yesterday. They are blue. He still hasn't missed a step. The physical therapist was very pleased with the results from the first week.
We couldn't get orange because they don't carry the color. Oh well. We may try something funky like a different color for each foot. We have some pictures of him in the casts. I will try to upload a couple for reference in the next couple of days.
He had his final visit to the GI doc today. Everything was fine. He weighed over 22 pounds with the casts on. So we'll give him at least 22 without them...:)
Now for something completely different, I have to mention how much he loves his teeth brushed. When he sees the toothbrush come out he giggles and moves towards whoever holds the brush. It's great that he'll let us into his mouth like that. It's hilarious and rewarding at the same time.
Hopefully more to come this week.

The First Week Of Casting
The week has been good. It's been the first week for Destin's casts. He got red ones. We wanted to get orange ones for Uncle T and Courtney's visit, but they said a lot of kids wanted orange for Halloween.
He's adjusted very well (as always). He fell asleep when they put them on! They haven't slowed him down at all, which was probably a safe bet. Destin will go back in on Tuesday to get re-casted. They will bend his foot up as far as they can stretch it and cast it again. We are hoping for orange. :)
We had fun with Tyler and Courtney this weekend. They came in for Jann and Lyndsay's wedding reception. More on this later this week.
I'm hoping to get on more then once this week. Talk to you soon!

Next Step
We had a good weekend. Sheri helped throw a baby shower for her friend Kristin (MK). They had it at Kristin's sister's (Michelle) house. Sheri made spinach dip, fruit dip, and punch. From what I heard, it was a good time. You'll have to ask Sheri though, baby shower's aren't my department :).
We drove around a few neighborhoods today. We are trying to get an idea of places we would want to be if we buy a house. It's just a preliminary scan, nothing serious.
Destin goes in for his casts on Tuesday. We are wondering how he is going to adjust to them. Time will tell!
I know that I've promised a couple things last week that I didn't get to, but I have pictures!!! One album from Gran And Pop Pop's Visit, and another from his 2nd Birthay Party. Enjoy!

2nd Two Bullets/General Info
Another week hiatus between posts, and this one is going to be fairly short.
Destin has been fighting a minor case of pink eye and a cold for the past week/two weeks. We think that he is on the other side of it, but he still has a lingering cough.
He had his botox injections yesterday for physical therapy. He will goes in next week to have casts put on his legs. This is mostly to stretch out the bottom half of his legs. (More on this later).
He had his 2 year check up with Dr. Dickerson recently. Everything was fine. She is aware of the physical therapy and thinks it's a good idea for the D-man.
Okay, going to get some sleep....

First Two Bullets
So I wanted to give a few more details about Destin's party, and talk about Gran and Pop Pop's visit.
The theme for Destin's part was Thomas The Tank Engine. Sheri made Thomas goodie bags for all the kids that came. We made a CD with songs that Destin likes. Nancy made some delicious deviled eggs, potato salad, and layered jello. We ordered sandwiches and a Thomas cake. It was really great to have the party down at Russ and Nancy's. A good place to hold a shindig! It truly was a shindig. I think we had over 30 people there. 10 being kids. Our friend Elissa said that Destin knows how to throw a party!
Gran and Pop Pop started their visit the day before Destin's party. They flew in and crashed at our place for a couple nights. We stayed up in Beaver Creek at The Charter for 3 days and 2 nights. It was very relaxing. Sheri and Mom went to the spa. We walked around Vail and Beaver Creek during the day. Dad and I hit the hot tub at night; one time with some wine and some cigars.
When we returned from Beaver Creek. They checked into the Omni at Interlocken just south of Boulder. Mainly because we kicked them out! (just kidding) It's a very nice hotel that is very close to our place. They stayed there until last Sunday. We had dinner and Ken's restaurant on Friday night; did some shopping; and hit the Tatse of Colorado on Saturday. Sunday morning we had breakfast at the Omni, and Mom and Dad headed back to Tennessee. It was a good visit.
Hopefully tomorrow night I'll be able to get on and talk about the appointments Destin has this week and next. Along with how the pea packer is doing.

Behind Again, Of Course
I have a ton to talk about. I don't think I'll get into it through the rest of the week. Here's a rough outline:
- More Birthday Details
- Gran and Pop Pop Visit
- Upcoming Appointments
- General Pea Packer Stuff
