The Letter M
March wasn't a big posting month for me. I'm going to try to squeeze in one last post.
He is still loving his walking. His knees are almost entirely cleared up. No bruises or callus anymore.
Dad/Pop Pop/Dave and I went to San Francisco last weekend for the Whiskey's of the World Expo. It was a great time. If anybody is wondering, my favorite was the Bushmill's 21 year Irish Whiskey.
But to more important things, Destin has really started to use consonants this week, particularily "M". He walks around smiling and saying, "Mamamamamamamamamamamamamamamamamamamamama". It's lovely to hear.
Physical, feeding, and cranio-sacral therapies all continue to go well.
I'm hoping that April will be a more published month for me. We have a lot going on already!

We Are Still Here!
Hello everyone. I promise we are still around. We've had a great couple of weeks in the Hirsch household. None of which I have the time or energy to write about at this hour, but I promise it will be soon.
Thanks for stopping by...

The Big Mess
We had a pretty funny thing happen this week. It wasn't too funny at the time, but as time passes on it gets more laughable. I spoke about Destin's mobility in my last post; his agility is getting better too.
At first, we could not put anything "spillable" on the coffee table. That was all well and good. We then moved up to not being able to put anything on the end of the kitchen table. As of Monday, we can no longer put "spillable" items on the edge of the kitchen counter. :)
Sheri had a 3/4 full coffee from Starbucks with raspberry syrup that she was sitting on the edge. Destin meandered over to the counter where she had placed it and knocked it across the hallway; spilling all of it on the carpet, wall, and himself.
We had a lovely new color on our carpet on Monday afternoon. Sheri told me to stop by the grocery to rent a Rug Doctor for clean up. She steamed cleaned the spot so that it's not so noticeable.
I'm sure this is just one incident in many more to come. I'm also positive that this is the first time anything like this has happened...EVER! :)
All in all, it's great to see him grow and "reach out" for things.
The D-man and Sheri had a busy week this week; Toomey feeding clinic on Monday; PT on Tuesday; and an appointment with Cindy today. We have a very special vistor coming tomorrow morning. Pop Pop will be here to hang out. He's going to go with them to play group.
We have a fun weekend planned. I'm guessing you won't hear from me until Sunday. So, Happy St. Paddy's Day!

The Trekker
Again, I have been getting beat up at work this week. I wanted to mention that it was Sheri's birthday on Thursday (3/9). We walked over to Ted's Montana Grill that night to have dinner. When I say "we", I mean all three of us. Destin walked all the way too! He was in the middle holding on to one of my hands and one of Sheri's; he made it the whole way. I think it gave him an extra rush because we wasn't really in "restaurant mode" when we arrived at Ted's. Well, as much as any 2 and a half year old is on any given evening. We inhaled our dinner and got ready to leave. Thankfully because of a new Colorado Law we were able to cork our bottle of wine and take it with us. Very nice perk!
He has become quite the trekker. I believe it's safe to say that it is his main mode of transportation. His knees are clearing up. They continue to get some abuse since he is still working on his "stand to squats", but they look a lot better than when he was crawling all the time.
We went to Buca Di Beppo tonight with Grandma and Grandpa Stackpole. Destin's highlight of the evening was walking around the Pope's table and tapping all the seats of the chairs.

Whoa...
Ever have one of those work week's that you would like to erase from your memory? It's been a tough one, but I found some breathing room tonight so I thought I would do a quick post.
Destin has been pretty picky with his eating over the last few days. He was fighting a cold earlier in the week and it has resurfaced (or whatever colds do) this weekend. It happens, I suppose. It hasn't slowed him down much. He's been eating light and has had a different sleeping pattern. He still goes full speed during the day!
We had a good day. We've been having some great weather. The three of us went to a park nearby and played on the swings. It was a good time. I'm so ready for springtime!
Well, I'm hoping to get some relief from work this week, so hopefully you'll see me on more then once. Thanks for reading!
