3 Things
Okay, so I lied about getting on yesterday. I tried, but I didn't want to rush it.
I wanted to talk about one thing in the recent past(my 13 day lapse), one thing that happened today, and one funny thing Destin has been doing lately.
Sheri and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary on the 10th of May. We got a little chuckle that morning because a couple of the cars near our place had some snow on them. It was a chilly night. Kristin and Ken were nice enough to offer to watch Destin while we went out to dinner. The Med in Boulder was our choice. We had a great meal and time together.
Today we had Destin's appointment to create his Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This is a plan that the school district puts together for kids with special needs as they get close to age 3 and into the school system. It is a series of goals and timeframes as well as a picture of how Destin operates at a point in time. What is he good at; what challenges him. The document will be used by the school district and Destin's new teacher come August to measure progress. It seems like a good plan, and I was happy that I was able to attend.
So the funny thing Destin has been doing lately is after he takes a bite of a cracker and the leftover piece is still in his fingers; he will take it and touch his left ear and giggle. It reminds me of when Robert from Everybody Loves Raymond would touch his food to his chin before he ate it. Both are quite entertaining!

Pictures - Not Much Words Tonight
So it's been awhile since I've been on. I have so many stories to tell over the past 12 days; however, I do not have the time to tell them tonight.
I did upload one set of photos, and two videos.
Enjoy! I'm hoping to be able to talk more tomorrow night, but you know how that goes.

Bend Down Low
The D-man is getting really good at bending down to pick up things. His favorite things to pick up are his saucer and his circus truck. It's very neat to see. He used to go down on his knees to pick up the toy and then shuffle over to the couch or table and pull himself up. Now, he'll just squat and pick it up. He hasn't mastered it yet, but he's getting there. He'll be squatting 225 lbs. before we know it. :)
Feeding school went well yesterday. Destin had a good time with Susan. He even rode on the swing for awhile. He tried a crisp turkey pepperoni that he liked.
Today, Sheri and he just vegged out. No appointments, no errands, just hanging. Man, that's living!

A Month Ago Already?
I don't know if I ever mentioned our visit what Dr. Bradford Miller, the neurologist. It was about a month ago now(April 11th), but it was a good visit. We talked about where we've been and what we are trying to do with Destin as far as therapy goes.
He gave our family some nice compliments and said that continuing the love we all give him will be the best thing for him. He also gave Destin a diagnosis of mild to moderate cerebral palsy (CP). This wasn't striking news as we've figured this was the case for a long time, but it is nice to have it in writing.
That's all I have time for tonight. More later!

Up And Down
So Destin figured out how to go down the stairs today; all by himself! He was very tied to his saucer toy today. It spins around and makes a lot of noise; his two favorite functions.
It was close to bedtime and he was crawling upstairs and saw that his saucer was behind him on the floor. He stopped and slid on his belly until his feet hit the next stair, and the next, and the next; until he reached the floor which is usually how his daddy goes down. :)
All of this was after he pulled down the wood gate we put in front of the stairs so he doesn't go up. Looks like we are going to have to dead bolt that thing on there, or possibly take it down all together.
