Moving Into The Holidays
I wanted to pop on and mention a few things this evening.
Thanksgiving was fun. Russ and Nancy (Grandpa and Grandma) came up for the feast at our house. We had all the fixings. It was nice to have the holiday in the new digs.
Destin has been doing some new things. He really likes going up and down the stairs. Sheri or I have to help him to go down still (just a little bit), but he'll be able to do them solo pretty soon. His new favorite book is Hello Smokey! it is about the mascot for the University of Tennessee and his adventures one game day. He likes to point out the orange "T"'s all through the story. His Uncle T gave him the book. He'll be proud to hear this news. It is probably some sort of brainwashing tactic!
Sheri started decorating the house for Christmas this weekend. It is amazing how quick the holidays came up this year. I think I say that every year, but they particularly sneaked up on us this year.
Everything with the house is going well. It's been fun and frustrating all at the same time. Where does all the free time go? :)

The House Is Now Warm
We had a big bash at the house last Saturday. We invited a ton of friends over for a housewarming. There were a great deal of kids there, so Destin would have had a lot of playmates if he was awake. Yep, he cashed out around 6:30 PM or some very early time. He was able to hang out with the early arrivers and he woke up to say goodbye to the late crowd, but he slept through the bulk of the party time. What a character!
We had quite a few adults there as well. We made big batches of chili and cheese soup along with a bunch of munchies. It was a fairly chilly night so everyone was inside for the most part. It was a good test of the house to see how many people it will hold comfortably. We had at least 60 bodies with some room to spare.
There really hasn't been much newsworthy stuff happening in the past few weeks. We just been working on the house and getting ready for the party. Destin is continuing his therapies and doing very well.

Halloween In Rearview
I'm going to be quick because I need to get to bed, but we had a wonderful Halloween. It was the first time we took Destin trick-or-treating. He ended up being a cowboy. A bundled up cowboy at that; the temperature was near freezing as we were out and about.
We went around the cul-de-sac and met some of our new neighbors. We managed to get a new stove delivered, too; although it may have caught some gremlins from Halloween night because it seems to be a little dysfunctional. Sheri was on the support line at Sears for almost the whole day. But, that's a whole separate post.
I hope that everyone had a fun and safe Hallow's Eve. Talk to you soon!
