Party Deck
What a beautiful weekend. Mid 80's all around. We had some people over for a barbecue on Saturday. The grill that the whole fam got me for me birthday had a real workout. The house got one as well! We had 15 kids running around. It's a shame that Destin doesn't have any toys to share ::wink wink::.
We had burgers and dogs, the Pawlik family jello, salads, chips, snacks, and a fantabulous dessert bar with ice cream, brownies, sprinkles, and a bunch of other sundae toppings. Man, I'm even tired just writing about it.
The deck on the house has proved to be invaluable. It's Destin's playground with toys, picnic table, and water table. A whole new level of entertaining is also available for Sheri and me.
The house returned to normal late this morning. We are also preparing for another paint job in our dining room. This is going to be a big job. I'll need scaffolding and everything. I believe that I am becoming a bona fide painter now. The target is to complete the dining room by the end of the month. Wish me luck!

Stretch Destin
Sheri and Destin have return to their regularly scheduled therapy visits. We had a hiatus of insurance between my job change. Well, at least for Sheri and I; Destin is double covered on Medicaid.
Today started with a visit with Ms. Susan at the Kay Toomey clinic. It had been a month since their last visit. It was good session. He enjoyed seeing Susan again. The other bit of news is that he has grown 2 whole inches in a month! He is now a sturdy 3'1" (37 inches). Uncle T says he can start as a defenseman next year on his lacrosse team.
Speech therapy was today as well. He, Sheri, and Colette went outside for the session. He had a good time because he was in his favorite place, outside.
Tomorrow is his last day of school for the year, and his second to last day as a Cotton Creek Cougar. He has a end of the school year picnic on Wednesday that the three of us are going to attend. We are going to miss Cotton Creek a lot.
