No Big Community Pool News

So there weren't any big stories today from the community pool adventure. All the boys had a good time. Destin was a little fussy though.

We're not sure if his ear tubes or his teeth are bothering him. We have an appointment with Dr. Dickerson for a physical on Thursday. The main purpose is to fulfill the requirement for school next year; all kids need a physical. She'll be able to take a peak at his ear tubes at least.

The boys came back to hang out at our house after swimming. The Mitchell twins took a nap in Destin's room and the rest of the boys watched a couple shows in the basement.

Sheri and Kristin made it through the day, which is good. They are going to meet for a couple drinks tomorrow night which is very well deserved.

Swimming Through The Summer

Destin went to speech today and made some good noises and had some good play time. He and Sheri were able to hang out in the park he likes right outside the Children's Hospital satellite office.

Destin is having his friends Karter, Kellen, and Kwinn over tomorrow along with their 3 cousins from Nebraska. Kristin is coming over as well. The two of them will be responsible for 7 boys ranging from 18 months to teenagers. Destin will be sure to show them the ropes, and hopefully they can cruise for some chicks while Sheri and Kristin catch some rays.

I can't wait to hear the stories myself and I'll hopefully be able to share them with you tomorrow night!

Slides Are Fun

Destin's new thing is to go down his slide in our backyard by himself. He still needs help getting to the top, and we catch him once he gets to the bottom, but he is the one who gives himself the initial push.

It is neat to see him exploring new things. He's fallen in love with the process of the slide as he has with other things. We took some great video that I'm hoping to get up soon.

The weekend was filled with chores, but we managed to have a little fun.

Destin Trip, First Movie, Ear Tubes & More

We've just been cruising through the summer. Our trip to Destin, FL for the 4th of July was a blast. I broke tradition and did not post song lyrics that were getting me fired up for the trip. Oh well, it was still a good time had by all.

Dr. Joe (Destin's God Pop) and his daughters Emma and Claire came down to Florida for a few days. It was nice to have them around. Destin enjoyed the extra attention. The girls were very good helpers.

The pea packer saw his first movie while at the beach. We took him to a morning show of Ratatouille.

We returned to Colorado on July 8th. Destin had some more tubes put in his ears on July 11th. We had set the appointment up before we left. The tubes were put in to help drain some fluid that has gotten into his ear canals. The decision was made starting with a hearing test at school. The results were less not where they should have been so we started to check it out. Another visit with good old Dr. Allen and tubes were put in.

Other then that we are really enjoying the summer. The painting of the dining room is done. WOO HOO! It was finished before we went to Florida. There are some pictures up on Flickr if you would like to check out our work.
