Stealin' Kisses
Everyone made it to Chicago okay, and the gang has already eaten at Portillo's. Destin apparently was ready to cruise for chicks tonight. Sheri said he had a blast at Portillo's and kissed a 1 year old girl. What a stud.
My first bachelor night was pretty mellow. Had catfish for supper; talked to Sheri; talked to my folks; wrote a blog post; and went to bed. Maybe tomorrow night will be a little more exciting, but I do have to pack...

New Snacks And A Trip
Plowing through the week he re in the Hirsch household. Destin had a great day at feeding school with Ms. Susan on Monday. He got a new chicken snack to try called "Anytizers". He tried some Indian snacks called sev, papadi, and gaathia. Banana Creme yogurt was also on the menu along with a baked potato snack called krinkle sticks, the sour cream & onion flavor.
The D-man had a good day at school today. All of his friends wished him a good trip because he and Sheri are heading to Chicago tomorrow with Grandma and Grandpa Stackpole. Sheri's cousin, Jen, is getting married this coming weekend and they are going to hang out with the fam. I will be joining them on Friday after dropping them off at the airport in the morning.
Woo hoo....bachelor pad for a couple days! :)

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
Possibly a little late in the week to be discussing the previous weekend, but it was good for us.
We went to Natalie Rusin's birthday party on Saturday morning. John and Sharon had her party at a local park; a "breakfast play date" so-to-speak. We thought it was a great idea and all three of us had a lot of fun.
On Sunday we headed to the "Day Out With Thomas" at the Colorado Railroad Museum. Grandma and Grandpa Stackpole came with us, and we met Kristin, Kater, Kellen, Kwinn, and Karen there as well. Destin didn't get the best night of sleep before the event, so it took him a little bit to warm up. Once he did, he had a good time. I had to bail early to head out to LA for a client meeting, which is where I'm at now.
I had dinner with Jordan and Jay Sheehan last night; some really good family friends. It is always nice when corporate travel works out for you in that way. Seeing old friend or family. I head back tomorrow and I'm going to be working from home, so I'll get to take Destin to school on Thursday. That will be a good time...

First Eye Doctor Appointment
Destin had his first eye doctor appointment today. Sheri said that he did really well. They checked to see if he was dominant in one eye over the other and he wasn't. They had him follow some lights around and look for Nemo on the wall. They even dilated his pupils. Sheri got a little freaked out because they said that is was going to be 25 minutes before he would be ready to continue the check up. Luckily, she is always prepared with her stocked bag. Everything was in order and the doctor said that the D-man doesn't have to come back for another 5 years. Unless, of course, he starts to have an issue.
Hopefully his eyes will take after his mama, but who knows. My eyes went south around 10 years old so we'll see.
School was good today as well. His teachers are taking a lot of interest in him which is neat to see. He's off tomorrow but will go again on Thursday.
Sheri and Destin had a visit with Ms. Susan at the Toomey Clinic yesterday. It went well, but it seems that his love affair with dolphin shaped chicken nuggets has run its course. Susan said that I can have them now. :) That was nice of her...

The Official End To Summer
Say it ain't so. Labor Day Weekend is here; our summer days and summer nights are quickly coming to an end.
The Hirsch's went out in style though. We hit Lakeside Amusement Park again with Grandma and Grandpa Stackpole. This was after a delicious lunch at the restaurant Chicago. Nancy, Sheri, and I went with the Italian beef sandwich and Russ had two Chicago style hot dogs.
Destin had a blast riding all his rides. We went on the merry-go-round and the train this time. We didn't have the greatest seats on the train; we were up front and close to the whistle. Destin wasn't a huge fan, but we'll have to try it again.
The three of us hit A Taste Of Colorado today. Sheri and I had two ears of roasted corn, fried pickles, a hot dog, chicken curry, and fondue on a stick between the two of us. Destin went with his applesauce and pudding. :) We ran a few more errands in the afternoon and headed home.
We won't let summer get away from us too easily! Although, Sheri has decorated the house will all the fall stuff now. Plus, school has started; summer is over isn't it? Oh well, fall has a bunch of neat stuff as well.
It sure was a great summer in the Hirsch household.
